Item 8: Kiwi Country

This website was a way of starting to use the free version of Word Press, with a free template to get experience with using the program.

I wanted to make a website on New Zealand, which is by far my favourite country (😜), and include pages about traditions, the history of the country, and about the country. I found myself to be very limited in the template I chose, without the freedom to change colours, highlight colours, and otherwise. I was also limited in the design of my page.

With what I had to work with, I chose a image that I took of mist in trees, and I think it perfectly reflected New Zealand. The dark and light, the trees, and the forest all brought a nice design element to the page, and I am very happy with how this image turned out.


I linked my instagram to the page in order to show the life of someone who lived in New Zealand, but I wasn't able to move stuff around, and arrange it how I would have liked. I found this very annoying, and frustrating, but glad that I included this element.

Because I felt very limited in the use of independence on this site, I wasn't able to complete the website to the highest standard that I wanted. I made it a little bit more fun and free, and included one more image on the History page, but overall I was happy of the look of the website. I would have changed positions of things, and highlight colours, but was happy with the final product with the tools that I had available.
